BLACK CLOTHES MATTER
Powerful & in control. That's how I feel. That's how an all black outfit makes me feel. I don't understand people who underestimate the power of clothing. Fashion is something more than just the clothes on our bodies. Fashion is a way for us to show the world who we are or who we want to become. With the right clothes you can do anything, you can be anything, you just have to want it enough. And believe me, I want it. I want it bad. And when I wear black, it's like something awakens in me, that beast that's living inside of me. And it's hungry. It's hungry for success. We often forget about our ambitions and tell ourselves that we're satisfied with what we have. But the truth is, I want more. And I'll go and get it, it's waiting for me somewhere, waiting for my beast. And don't worry, I'll get there, even if it means going against the stream.

URBAN LEGENDS
I was a blogger
Not a very popular one
I once had dreams of becoming a style icon
But upon an unfortunate series of events saw those dreams dashed and divided like a million stars in the night sky
That I wished on over and over again, sparkling and broken
But I really didn’t mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it to know what true freedom is

Writer's block
I’ve been gone, I’ve been lost. I haven’t given my all to this blog, but it seemed like I had lost some creative gene in my body. And I don’t want that to happen again, so this post is like a promise, like a reminder to myself to keep going. During this dark time of mine, I had a lot of second thoughts about this blog and blogging in general. But finally I realised, that I have been doing this since I was sixteen and it’s made me the person I am today. And I don’t feel like giving that part of myself away. And while I did some thinking, I realised where I got lost. It was when I started running for followers and blog stats and everything that comes with it. So I’ve changed things. I finally changed my blogging platform and simplified everything quite a bit. And I don’t care how many people will read this, all I care about is that posting this makes me happier. And that’s exactly what I’ve missed.

Overheat
Summer’s here & the heat is on! I usually find it hard not to lose your personal style during these hot months when you’re forced to wear shorts and flip fops. I really love outerwear & layering, so it’s understandable that summer is not my favourite season. In this post I wanted to show my new amazing cotton blend jacket from sammydress.com which is very lightweight and ideal for summer. I can already see that it’s going to be an essential item in my wardrobe this season.

Consumed by sunshine

You can call me lazy & you can call me boring, but I’ve decided to post my outfit looks as well. So we’ve dumped our winter outerwear & we’ve turned our clocks forward, but the most important thing is that spring is here & it’s staying, at least I hope so.

Riga Sweethearts

And so it’s October, I guess I could say it’s my favorite time of the year. This time autumn has brought me lots of changes. And due to these changes I haven’t been able to blog as much as I’d want. For a little while I’m back in Riga and between all of the rainy days there was one that was perfect for the sweetheart photoshoot. It was cold, but we had a great time shooting these pictures with a close friend and photographer Elvijs Strazds.

Leather up
And so it’s the time of the year when I can already feel the nature shifting it’s path. As we count down the last days of summer, we should spend a little time looking forward and thinking about our next seasons wardrobe. In a way it’s exactly what I did, but I had other reasons as well. Recently some a-hole stole Laura’s favorite leather jacket. I did everything I could to get it back, but apparently there’s a bigger tolerance for thieves in this country than where I come from. And since we failed to get an equal jacket in the stores, I decided to make it myself.
It’s the first time I’ve ever done outerwear and the first time I’ve made something entirely out of faux leather. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to come up with something beautiful. I added a leather fringe detail that goes all the way down the back & it’s the first time I’ve done that as well. Laura loves it & I do too.

Hooded
It may seem as if I’m lazy, it may seem as if I’m not dedicated enough. But it’s wrong. I know this is only my first post this July, but I’ve been busy and tired so I’d like to apologize for not posting as frequently as I’d wish.

Midsummer Cupcakes
This year I’m not celebrating the arrival of midsummer, not drinking, not partying. I guess I just don’t feel the need to. Finally I have a post where all of the clothes are made by myself. I found this lovely cupcake print fabric (which is not something I would usually like) a while ago & made this super cute sweater for Laura. She loves it and so do I. I know it’s not something I would typically make, but I think it’s great stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.

Cut it out
I can’t believe it’s the middle of June! This year June has brought me lots of changes. I am now (and for now) blogging from The Netherlands. I made this t-shirt back in Riga and now is the perfect weather to wear it. I wanted to make a skull cut out, because all of them I’ve seen are a little exaggerated and quite ugly actually, so I tried making something more realistic. The black fabric is sewed underneath and I’m planning to experiment with this technique further - with different colors and fabrics. I’ll definitely try something with fake leather (which I love, as I’ve mentioned many times before).

Double Leather
I haven’t done outfit posts yet, but I can already say that it’s a lot of fun. I wanted to show the sweater that I made just yesterday. I’ve talked a lot about how much I love leather, so I finally made something nice for myself - Grey sweater with leather sleeves. (I’ve mentioned I prefer fake leather, cause I care for animals, recently I’ve decided to stop eating meat as well & guess what - I’ve never felt better)
